SO, WHAT IS LA CHISPA?

La Chispa is an independent Argentine tango community in Amsterdam — a place to learn, dance, practice and meet people. Every Sunday afternoon at Zaal 100, we host drop-in dance classes in Amsterdam-West tailored specifically for absolute beginners, immediately followed by our weekly guided tango práctica.

We believe tango is about more than steps. It’s about music, movement, connection and being present with another person — and with the people around you.

You want to dance. You start by doing. You meet people along the way.

No experience? You will get that whilst doing.
Already dance tango? Experienced dancer? Come practice, experiment and share.

There is no choreography to hide behind. You listen, respond, improvise and move together.
